i’ve been running forums since forever and so far it looks like you’ve got a potentially awesome one going!  I just had two suggestions:

first, it’d be nice to see a new member intro forum.  i know these are kind of pointless and seem like wasted space but it brings people into the community.

second, i’m not crazy about the color scheme here… the dark background makes it hard to focus on the text, especially if something lighter-colored is going on, anywhere.

just my $0.02.

If the traffic here becomes as busy as I suspect it will, I second the motion of a newbie forum. It’s always nice to have a place to point new folk to. “Your introduction hey I’m new thread?” Newbie forum. “Your gee I don’t know the etiquette and protocol thread?” Newbie forum. Newbie forums provide a space for new posters to acclimate themselves to the bored and discuss topics that the rest of us have (or will eventually) hashed over a million times.

Lol, I actually created a thread on that color scheme suggestion. I’m sorry I didn’t read this thread first!

n/p, I thought of creating a second thread for it, but didn’t want to seem to thread-happy or whatever.  you know, they’re like bug reports, one topic per makes it easier to organize and close them off as they’re resolved or fulfilled.

How many posts before your tagline changes from Newbie to something else?

It looks like 30 posts takes you from newbie to junior member.  I am actually guessing.  It is obviously greater than 25.  PixelGeek has the Junior status and she is the only one so far.

Hello: The rankings are:

0 - 30 = newbie
30 - 50 = jr. member
50 - 100 = member
100+ = sr. member

Does 30 seem too high to become a jr. member?  Let me know what you all think.

Thanks,
Chris
