Students aged 7-19 who may be engineers in the making are invited to take the Meet the Future You quiz to examine different engineering careers.
The quiz questions focus on the test taker’s interests and educational strengths to match them to profiles based on real-life engineers representing diverse disciplines. These include the marine, biomedical, mechanical and electrical engineering professions.
Some sample questions include:
Where would you like to work? Possible responses include a modern office, another planet, a high-tech laboratory or somewhere outside.
What do you enjoy at school/college? Conducting experiments, designing things or solving problems are a few of the possible answers.
In planning a new city on a different planet, which of these tasks would you like to do? Test takers can build robots that will do the lifting and digging, develop Wi-Fi so that people can use the internet, or design roads, hospitals, schools, docks and airports.
The quiz was developed by EngineeringUK in partnership with UCL Engineering and with the support of the Tomorrow’s Engineers Careers Working Group.
